Project TitleMiniature Axial-Flow Pump
Track Code2008-007
Short Description

The University of Texas at El Paso seeks a partner for licensing a new class of miniature axial-flow pumps or turbo pumps with size of 7 to 10 millimeters in length.

The pumps are capable of high exit flow rates of up to 25 milliliters per second and high pressure heads of up to 5 meters, at speeds up to 50,000 RPM. The pump can be either motor driven or turbine driven, providing many possible uses. This invention is aimed at miniature propulsion systems, but the pumps have uses in many industries unrelated to propulsion.
